Thippili is called long pepper in English and it's botanical name is piper longum. It is called "Arisi thippilli" in Tamil and has amazing health benefits and medicinal uses. Long pepper is a flowering vine cultivated for it's fruit. The fruit is dried well and used. Long pepper is very similar to our regular pepper, but more spicier than it. It can be used as a substitute for our regular pepper in any recipe. Thippili also occupies an important place in Ayurveda and we use it extensively as a home remedy.
